Rental Property Smoke Alarm Testing

The early detection of fire in residential homes is critical in providing adequate time to investigate, contain or evacuate and operating smoke alarms are a must. Today’s homes are furnished with material that catches alight and burns much quicker and produces higher levels of toxicity than in the past. A fire in a home 2019 is likely to start within four minutes, whereas in 1980 this would have been twenty minutes, so time is of the essence.
